Children in grades 2-6, from synagogues around the greater Chicago area, are invited to participate in this Musical Afternoon, a Shir-In (Sing-In) on Saturday, February 22, 2020, from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m., at Temple Jeremiah.

Our talented faculty of cantors, cantorial soloists, choir directors, and song leaders will make this afternoon a memorable experience. Kids will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with new friends to compose a social justice song which will be performed for family and friends at Havdallah, beginning at 6 p.m. Afterward, they will be the opening act for the culminating Jewish Rock Community Concert and Dance Party, where together they will perform pop songs by Jewish pop artists which they will learn together during the retreat (think Maroon 5, Van Halen, Pink). They will have the opportunity to perform live with nationally acclaimed rock-n-roll musicians, area cantors, and song leaders.

Drop off and Pick Up

• 1:00 pm - Drop off at Temple Jeremiah (snack, dinner, and t-shirt will be provided)
• 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. - Havdalah & Concert (family and friends invited!)
• 8:00 p.m. -  Pick up at Temple Jeremiah

Registration with payment is required online by February 10, 2020.

Registration is $18 per participant.*

This fee covers a snack, dinner, materials, event t-shirt, and staffing.

Please note: For everyone’s safety and enjoyment, your child is expected to stay for the entire event.
