All Day for 14 DaysFamily Promise Day Center in EvanstonFamily Promise Winter 2021
Temple Jeremiah is a participating member of Family Promise, a national organization that helps families experiencing homelessness to achieve sustainable independence. These families are like ours, but circumstances have brought them to a point of financial crisis. Temple Jeremiah is a founding member of Family Promise Chicago North Shore, a coalition of interfaith houses of worship that host these families on a rotating basis. Please see more about Temple Jeremiah’s involvement with Family Promise here: http://templejeremiah.org/get-involved/social-justice/family-promise/ Temple Jeremiah serves as host for Family Promise next from December 19, 2021-January 1, 2022 and WE NEED YOUR HELP! We are looking for volunteers to bring dinner or have dinner delivered to the Family Promise guests at the Family Promise Day Center in Evanston each night from December 19th through January 1st. Please note that if you sign up for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, or New Year’s Day, this may be canceled if the guests are visiting family. We don’t know the exact number of guests right now, but it is usually 8-10. We will update you with numbers and information on dietary requirements in mid-December. For dinner, we need volunteers to bring dinner or have dinner delivered at 6:00 p.m. to the Family Promise Day Center located at 1417 Hinman Avenue, Evanston, IL 60201. When you arrive at the Day Center, you'll see a buzzer system to the left of the door. Press the code 02# for Family Promise and you will be buzzed in. If no one answers, please call Tracy's cell at 224.216.9780. We are also requesting grab 'n go breakfast and lunch items for meals during the school/work week. We ask that these items be delivered on Sunday evenings at 6:00 p.m. and you can sign up below. Suggestions include turkey cold cuts, sliced cheese, white bread, frozen turkey sausage breakfast sandwiches, English muffins, bananas, strawberries, Pop Tarts, Frosted Flakes, 2% milk, and orange juice as an example and we will provide a more updated list once we learn the guests' dietary preferences.
